Learn How to Talk to Yourself

Updated: Jun 19

You know how they say communication is key in relationships? Well, it's key in the relationship with yourself as well.

I learned I still had a little voice inside my head telling me I wasn't worthy of love. I was unable to fill that void. I kept seeing the same patterns repeat themselves, and that's when I knew I had to look within and do something different.

It's so important to watch how you talk to yourself because your words are powerful, they're spells. They will become a reality. You might not even be aware of it, but take the time to listen to your thoughts. What are you feeding your mind? Are you loving yourself the way you would want someone to love you? Remember that it takes time to heal, and be gentle with yourself.

Today, I reclaim my power. I let my emotions flow instead of defining me. Today, I tell myself "I love you", kiss my hands, and my arms, and hug myself tight. I meditate daily. I journal and heal. Today I can say "I'm worthy" and believe it.

Books that helped me get to where I am:

  1. The Body Keeps the Score: Brain, Mind, and Body in the Healing of Trauma by Bessel van der Kolk

  2. The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz

  3. Get Out of Your Head by Jennie Allen

Daily Gratitude

"I am awake, I see the sun. I am going to give my gratitude to the sun and to everything and everyone because I am still alive. One more day to be me."

"I accept myself completely, here and now. And consciously experience everything I feel, think, say, and do, as a necessary part of my awakening."
